An invoice here is a ledger entry, a stock move and a tax line — in one save.
Scan or type, and the document does everything at once: provincial tax per line, inventory relieved, receivable opened, ledger posted. Print it, email it, WhatsApp it. Nothing to sync afterwards, because nothing was ever separate.
- ✓ Place-of-supply tax for all 13 regions
- ✓ Quotes and sales orders convert in one click
- ✓ Refunds capped by what's still returnable
Reconcile the way bookkeepers actually learned it. Feed optional.
Your own ledger entries on screen, the statement beside you, tick what cleared, finish at exactly zero. CSV import with reusable rules covers any bank on earth; live feeds are rolling out and land in the same flow.
- ✓ The QuickBooks Desktop shape, modernized
- ✓ Undeposited Funds → Deposit → Bank
- ✓ Service charges & interest inside the rec
Serials, batches, expiry dates, bins. Inventory with a memory.
Every serialized unit answers 'did we sell THIS one, and when.' Every batch knows its date. Every write-off carries a reason and an author. This is the depth QuickBooks Online sends you to a third app for — here it's just screens.
- ✓ Serial lookup ends warranty arguments
- ✓ Expiry screen shows value at risk
- ✓ Transfers ride in-transit between stores
One event ripples through everything. Correctly.
Everything QuickBooks charges extra for. In the box.
QuickBooks gives you an AI copilot.
SeroBooks gives you an employee.
Maya briefs you every morning, answers anything about your sales, stock and money, and drafts the real work. Then she does the one thing no other AI does: she asks permission. Approved by you, audited forever, undoable in one click.
Canada is four tax systems. Your software should know all of them.
HST in Ontario, GST+PST in BC, QST in Québec, GST alone in Alberta — and category exceptions everywhere. SeroBooks decides per line by destination, splits grouped rates into their components, and applies resale exemptions on purchases where provinces grant them. Verified in production, to the penny.
Desktop at the counter. Tablet in the aisle. Web at the desk.
Real installed apps with local data — not browser tabs pretending. One login, one ledger, everywhere.
Calculators that earn their bookmark
GST/HST by province, margin vs markup, break-even, CCA with the half-year rule, a free invoice generator — all running in your browser, nothing uploaded.
Built for businesses that move real things
Grocery with expiry dates, electronics with serials, wholesale with price tiers, Amazon sellers with settlements — the depth changes shape per industry.
SeroBooks vs QuickBooks Online
Feature for feature, with sources and dates — no games.
Running a restaurant? That's SeroPOS.
Kitchens, tables, ticket printers and kiosks — our sister product runs the food side, on the same platform.
Frequently asked questions
Is SeroBooks really both a POS and accounting software?
Yes — that is the whole design. Counter sales, inventory and the double-entry ledger are one system, so a sale is simultaneously a receipt, a stock movement and a posted ledger entry. Restaurants get the same idea in our sister product, SeroPOS.
Does it work without internet?
Fully. SeroBooks runs on a local database — invoice, sell and manage stock through any outage, and everything syncs when the connection returns.
Can I move from QuickBooks?
Yes, calmly: bring your lists, open at a month boundary, run both briefly. The built-in QuickBooks Desktop export — reconciled to the penny in production — keeps your accountant's workflow intact during the switch.
How is tax handled?
A place-of-supply engine applies GST, HST, PST, RST or QST per line by destination for all 13 provinces and territories, with PST resale exemptions on purchases where provinces allow them. If you sell into the United States it applies state and local tax the same way, and watches your sales against each state's economic nexus threshold so a filing obligation surfaces before the state finds it.
What is Maya?
Your AI employee, in early access: she answers anything about your business, briefs you every morning, and drafts real work — purchase orders, reorder points — that executes only when a person approves. Every action audited, capped, reversible.
What does it cost?
Standard is $150 a month or $1,500 a year and is the whole of the books. Pro is $300 or $3,000 and adds payroll, purchase and sales orders, warehouse, fixed assets, year-end and forecasting. Amazon sellers who only want their settlements reconciled and posted pay $99 or $990. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, accountant seats are always free, and there is no card to begin.
